Ducati 749R

£11,900

We're thrilled to present this high-specification Ducati 749R  - an increasingly collectible homologation bike with genuine World Super Sport pedigree, in many respects closer to a race bike than its bigger sister, the 999R. Number 93 has taken on new significance for Ducati in 2025, and this bike (frame number 93 of approximately 500 produced over a three year period) exemplifies so much of what makes a limited edition Ducati so special.

An '04 MY bike, it was in fact first registered in 2006. Boasting a unique specification, it retains the sought after carbon fairings (later bikes had poly-carb items), and perhaps most significantly, a full equal-length Leo Vince titanium exhaust (very rare, and very trick). Safe to say, it sounds utterly glorious. Some really beautiful accessories from Gilles, JHP, TSS and Ducati performance complete the package - with a host of original parts available with the bike. The personalised registration - UAL 749R, will stay with the bike as a finishing touch.

A diligently maintained machine, it has covered just over 7,000 miles over the course of its' 21 years, and boasts a well documented history, most recently serviced at 6,500 miles which included the belts. Naturally, it is in superb condition top to bottom - worthy of any collection, or ridden more regularly as Ducati intended.

What you need to know:

First registered: 17.05.2006

Service history: 7 prior services recorded (including a good record of belt changes)

Tyres: Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa F&R

Options/extras: Paddock stand; various original parts (please ask)

Keys: 3 x supplied

Cosmetic condition:

Beautifully clean all round, reflecting the bike's modest mileage and careful ownership. All of the carbon, plastic and painted surfaces are in original condition, maintaining a very clean finish throughout. There are minimal marks to any of the frame, or mechanical parts like the engine covers. The rider contact areas are all largely free from any imperfections, and the seat remains unblemished. All switchgear is as new, and functions correctly.

Mechanical condition:

Mechanically, the bike is in superb condition, starting instantly and achieving temperature quickly. That race-bred 749cc twin is typically characterful, and sounds just biblical through the Leo Vince system. The brakes are sharp and responsive once warm, and the bike pulls up effortlessly to a stop. Throttle and clutch are precise, likewise the gearbox. All other controls function correctly.

What our friends at Bennetts said:

"Homologation model Ducatis are always very special objects, but the 749R is a significant cut above most other R or SP Bologna bikes.Released in 2004, the 749R was Ducati’s entry into the ‘budget’ World Supersport series. Unlike WSB at the time, which was pretty open with its rules, WSS regulations were so tight at the time, not even allowing a change of wheels, that the R is effectively a full-on race bike, tricker even than the 999R.Despite all that, however, the exotic, superb 749R is still very much overlooked and something only for knowing connoisseurs. As a supersport rather than superbike, it lacks the ‘full-bore’ appeal of 1000cc machines; despite Ducati’s efforts, the 122bhp 749R couldn’t compete with the 140bhp 600cc Japanese fours and, as it was only built for three years, it remains rare"
